Sweet Potato for your Sweetie
Treat your little one to big doses of vitamins A, C and B6 plus potassium and omega-6 fatty acids with this yummy little recipe.

  • Get the oven ready by preheating to 375 degrees.
  • Scrub a large sweet potato, removing any visible dirt.
  • Use a fork to poke holes in several places in the sweet potato.
  • Leave the skin on.
  • Place the plain potato in a baking dish.
  • Put it in the oven for 45 minutes or until it is soft.
  • Let the potato cool for a few minutes.
  • Cut it lengthwise into halves.
  • Use a spoon to remove the cooked potato.
  • Mash the potato finely with the spoon and serve.

A Perfectly peach Treat
A peach will give your baby plenty of antioxidants, potassium and dietary fiber. Most babies love the sweet, fruity taste of peaches, and they’re very easy to prepare.

  • Select a large peach.
  • Wash it thoroughly with warm water or a fruit and veggie wash.
  • Cut the peach into small chunks.
  • Remove any fibers that are sticking out of the flesh.
  • Discard the pit.
  • On the stove, bring 2 inches of water to a simmer in a saucepan.
  • Drop the peach into the water and let it cook for about 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Cut the peach chunks into smaller pieces if they are still hard. Otherwise, put them in the food processor.
  • Add 1/8 teaspoon ginger to the peach.
  • Put 1 tablespoon of breast milk or baby formula into the mixture.
  • Puree until creamy.

Delicious Chicken Supper
This is a great food to try when you’re ready to introduce meats. Just make sure your baby has already eaten apple and sweet potato for at least 3 days prior to introducing this dish.

  • Wash one apple and one medium-sized sweet potato.
  • Skin the apple and dice it finely. Throw away the core.
  • Peel the sweet potato and dice it finely.
  • Take a whole boneless, skinless chicken breast and rinse it well with water.
  • Chop the chicken into small bite-sized pieces.
  • Add 2 cups of chicken stock to a medium sized saucepan.
  • Get the stock to a simmer.
  • Put the chicken in the pot and let it simmer for 10 full minutes.
  • Put the sweet potato and apple in with cooking chicken.
  • Cook the mixture covered for 15 minutes.
  • Pour everything into the food processor and puree it.
  • If the mixture is runny, strain it prior to serving.
